The story takes place in the "real" world. The PCs are fey creatures born of human imagination who have been forced to adapt to the banality and mundane of the modern world by becoming Changelings, sharing human bodies, in order to survive.

In this story, the PCs are on holiday in San Francisco when they inadvertantly become involved in a sinister plot to release an evil being who seeks veangance upon both Arcadia, where the Fae originated, as well as the mortal world. Although not directly involved in these events, the actions of the PCs may well be crucial in the success or failure to save both the Fae and humanity from enslavement for eternity or the utter destruction of both!
