Vilis/Vilis (Spinward Marches 1119)

275-1108. The Fifth Frontier War is ravaging the Spinward Marches. The world of Vilis has been under siege by the Sword Worlds Confederation Navy for over a year, with only intermittent contact with the rest of the Imperium. Seven days ago a pro-surrender coup was ruthlessly crushed by Public Security forces despite widespread popular support. Tomorrow the government will open a live broadcast plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies to publicly condemn the plotters.

Tomaz Vhilanzi, fugitive coup leader and opposition Deputy, has a plan. He will use the plenary session to publicly call a motion for a planet-wide surrender referendum, and due to a quirk of the law PubSec are unable to arrest Deputies attending a session. Even appearing by holo-link counts, for as long as the link is live. All he needs is access to a holo-link.

A small strike team consisting of a section of the 4th (Lacedaemonian) Confederation Ground Forces Grav Recon has been dispatched to infiltrate Vilis, capture a planetary comms hub and enable Tomaz’ plan. Put him on air, and keep him on air long enough to trigger the referendum.
